Whilst growing up in the Facebook era, I was under the impression that the use of social media was for individuals to stay in touch with friends in a platform which allows them in a way to display their personality, due to the many additional platforms that have popped up over the years social media has matured past that point of it just being a place for networking. whether we like it or not we can’t go on without our phones, especially if you are a young adult, waking up and checking Instagram or TikTok is part of many people’s routine as two out of five adults in the UK admit to being addicted to social media.

Although companies still use classic marketing methods to promote a service or a product by using billboards or TV adverts statistics show that social media is a better way to get your business out there with minimal cost due to the massive growth of digital channels with an interactive audience. Social media has not only helped start-up businesses generate revenue by having a loyal client base, but it has also helped generate multiple stars and influencers due to them getting the attention they deserved, this was made clear to me after a recent trip to Dubai in which I single-handedly saw the extreme power social media holds and how influencers use it to their advantage to grow their own personal brand through the many different platforms .



At the start of 2015 marketers realised that Influencer content has a significant impact on peoples buying decisions since influencers connect businesses with their customers in a way that feels personal, this makes the costumer feel at ease as they are buying a trustworthy product since is represented by an influencer they admire. Brand endorsement have always been successful marketing techniques used by companies world-wide since they generate a new buzz around the brand but are also very pricey, by using A-B list influencers , brands ensure that they are still getting a positive feedback from their target audience from influencers endorsing their product on their social media platforms.

Lastly it is important to understand the infinite ways companies can advertise their products in the multiple social media platform for free , one of these platforms being TikTok , by creating short videos companies have a chance of expanding their message across the world.
